About This Event
Rescheduled: Originally on 9/23, postponed to 10/14 due to weather.
September 23rd is National Public Lands Day (NPLD), the largest single-day public lands volunteer event in the nation, coordinated by the National Environmental Education Foundation. In honor of this year’s 30th NPLD anniversary theme, “30 years of care and community,” we are mobilizing the EENC community to volunteer at state parks across North Carolina. In collaboration with the NC State Parks system, and with nonprofit partners across the state, EENC is excited to host volunteer workdays for our members – and community at large – to help maintain and protect the lands we love. Read on for details about the Triangle-area workday.
EENC members are invited to attend the Eno River State Park volunteer workday in Durham, NC from 8:30-10:30am. Work alongside friends new and old on water bar maintenance; approx. 2 miles of hiking anticipated. Close-toed shoes are required, long pants recommended. Bring gloves or hand tools if you'd like!
RSVP required to attend.
