Methods of Teaching Environmental Education Online Workshop (MOTEE)

Registration Opens March 13!

Methods of Teaching Environmental Education (MOTEE) is a 10-hour workshop designed to help practitioners create inclusive and age-appropriate learning experiences, gain group management skills, practice teaching methods to promote inquiry, and gain skills in designing objectives, lessons, and assessments for EE programs using NC Essential Standards as a foundation.

This workshop is for educators (formal, nonformal, and higher education) who want to learn more about:

• Diversity of Learners

• Creating the Learning Environment

• Teaching Methods

• Developmentally Appropriate Practice

• Assessment

• North Carolina Essential Standards

Format: This course will be a combination of independent online work and required group calls.  We will be using an online platform called Moodle for independent work and Zoom for the calls (video and call-in options). Live calls will consist of breakout rooms/peer teaching, slideshow presentation, and the use of shared documents platforms like Jamboard and Google Slides.

May 4 - Access to online materials available

May 7 - 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. live Zoom Call 1 (Thursday)

May 11 - 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. live Zoom Call 2 (Monday)

May 14 - 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. live Zoom Call 3 (Thursday)

May 18 - 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. live Zoom Call 4 (Monday)

May 21 - 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. live Zoom Call 5 (Thursday)

May 22 - All assignments due, close of course

Eligible for 10 hours of Criteria I or continuing education credit for the NC DEQ EE Certificate.

Registration: $31.50 for EENC members, $35 for general registration.
