About This Event
The Guidelines for Excellence is a series of materials to help environmental educators hone their practice and programs to national standards for high-quality EE programming. This workshop will focus on the K-12 Environmental Education Guidelines publication.
This workshop is for educators (formal, nonformal, and higher education) who want to learn more about:
- What environmental literacy is and how to explain the value of environmental literacy.
- What environmental literacy should look like by the end of grades 4, 8 and 12.
- How to connect these Guidelines to your EE instructional materials and NC curriculum standards.
Facilitators: Michelle Pearce and Breanna Walker
Format: In-person.
Counts for 6 hours of Criteria I or continuing education credit for the NC DEQ EE Certificate.
There is a $15 fee to register for this workshop, but thanks to grant funding, this fee will be completely refunded after you attend!
COVID Safety Requirements: This workshop will take place primarily indoors. Masks are not currently required at this location. We will be following the most up-to-date safety guidelines recommended by the CDC based on Community Levels. As things are constantly changing, you will hear from the facilitator about any specific requirements as the date approaches.
