About This Event
Don’t Waste It! is an environmental education program about waste management, recycling, composting, and waste reduction, which includes 11 lessons covering five themes: municipal solid waste, recycling, plastics, composting, and landfills. Each lesson includes a group activity, independent practice, extensions, and additional activities for K-Adult ages. The workshop will provide a base of knowledge needed to teach each lesson and run through many of the lessons. The registration cost includes the Don’t Waste It!Activity Guide. This is a Criteria I Workshop.
The workshop, hosted by Amy Renfranz, Program Coordinator for New Hanover Soil & Water Conservation District, will run April 8th from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Registration is required. Minimum 10, Maximum 15.
Other Information: This workshop will include time outdoors. Be prepared for a leisurely pace up to 1 mile per day on relatively flat terrain. You will need to bring your own lunch, snacks, and beverages on each day, as there will not be time to leave the premises or have something delivered. You will also need to bring a notebook and pencil.
In regard to COVID-19, we will be following the most up-to-date safety guidelines as required by the state. As things are constantly changing, you will hear from the facilitator about specific requirements as the date approaches.
