About the event

September 23rd is National Public Lands Day (NPLD), the largest single-day public lands volunteer event in the nation, coordinated by the National Environmental Education Foundation. In honor of this year’s 30th NPLD anniversary theme, “30 years of care and community,” we are mobilizing the EENC community to volunteer at state parks across North Carolina. In collaboration with the NC State Parks system, and with nonprofit partners across the state, EENC is excited to host volunteer workdays for our members – and community at large – on Saturday, September 23rd, to help maintain and protect the lands we love. Read on for details about the Fayetteville-area workday.

EENC members are invited to attend the Carvers Creek State Park volunteer workday in Spring Lake, NC, from 9am-12pm. Work alongside friends new and old to maintain, beautify, and clean the beautiful trails and grounds of the park. Meet at the Welcome Center at the Long Valley Farm Access. Tools, safety equipment, and training will be provided. Please bring a daypack to carry water and tools, water, a change of clothes (if wanted), closed toed shoes preferably with ankle support, and long pants.

RSVP required to attend.
