Membership Benefits

Central Section: Mickey Jo Sorrell
sorrell@email.unc.edu
EENC's Central Section is making plans for 2007 gatherings. We've set dates for two canoeing trips on the Dan River - led by Tom Shepard.
Mark your calendar for Saturday, April 14, and Saturday, September 15. More details will come by email. You can get your name on the list now by emailing Mickey at sorrell@email.unc.edu.
Also in the works is a return trip to Fort Bragg for banding Red Cockaded Woodpecker nestlings. This will probably be one Saturday in early May, but we will have very short notice, so make sure I know of your interest. Those of us who had this experience last year can highly recommend this trip.
Still to plan are trips to Hanging Rock, the NC Museum of Art Park, and Morehead Planetarium. Is your membership current? That will keep you on the list for these exciting adventures.

Western Section: Alice Cohen, CEE

Check your emails and the EENC web site for more information on activities and dates of Western Section gatherings. There will also be plenty of opportunities for EENC's Western Section members to get involved with the 2007 conference coming to the Lutheridge Conference Center in Arden, this fall. I'll keep you posted on activities prior to and during the conference. Questions? Contact me by email. Please make sure your membership is current so we can keep you in the loop!

Eastern Section: Dee Thonnard

Welcome to all our new Eastern Section members – each one of you is a welcomed addition to our community.  I'm looking forward to meeting all of you (and seeing other familiar faces) at the spring section gathering  Pettigrew State Park on April 28 from 12:00-3:00 p.m.  Bring your friends and family (it's free!) for an eco-friendly lunch and leisurely hike. Your guests will learn more about Native Americans and their use of the atlatl, or throwing stick, while we gather for a quick meeting.  Stay for the afternoon, or bring your tent and stay at the park. Either way, it’s time to get out and enjoy our wonderful state! Please contact me by April 20th to let me know how many we can count on for our activities.
