EENC is pleased to offer a limited number of teacher scholarships and college student discounts to attend the Environmental Educators of NC annual conference at Fort Bragg, NC, November 2-5, 2006. The purpose of these scholarships and discounts is to increase the diversity of our membership and those attending the conference.  Registration discounts of up to $20 per day will be awarded to college students, or a $75 discount for the full Conference Registration. Scholarships are provided by EENC Conference Sponsors.

All Registration Forms from scholarship applicants and recipients must be submitted by the October 1, 2006 deadline!

Scholarships will be considered for teachers and discounts for students who meet three criteria (live or work in the county or an adjacent county to the conference location, work or attend college in a county or school system with a large number of students receiving free and reduced-price lunches, someone who has never attended the EENC conference.)

Scholarships are allotted based on the # of applicants and the amount of money donated, with the applications approved in the order received.  There has also been a donation for two Diversity Scholarships.

All scholarship recipients will be asked to write a thank you letter to the scholarship sponsor, following the conference, and copy the Conference Chair, so the letter can be included in the conference files. (107 Overview Lane, Cary, NC 27511 or doukab@nc.rr.com

College Student recipients of registration discounts will be asked to volunteer for up to 1 hour per day during the conference to work at the registration table, help to decorate for ambiance, work on the auction, or serve as host or hostess in a presentation room and assist with AV equipment.  This volunteer work is intended to provide great networking opportunities.

All recipients must submit the regular Conference Registration Form by the October 1 deadline in order to receive the scholarship.  Scholarship winners should write "scholarship" in the blank asking for fees.  All recipients should pay their own EENC Dues, and submit it with their registration form.
