Awards will be announced at EENC's Annual
Meeting at our 17th annual conference, Oct. 26 - 28, in Arden,
NC.
EENC recognizes excellence! Every year EENC publicly recognizes
deserving environmental educators, EENC members, and partners
for their valuable contributions to EENC, the North Carolina
community, and to the field of environmental education.
Quality environmental education begins with excellent environmental
educators!
Know a deserving
environmental educator, organization or business that should be recognized for
their dedication and commitment to EENC and the field of environmental
education? Give specific
examples of the significant accomplishments that this individual, organization
or business has made to EENC or the field of environmental education.

Life Achievement Award
This award recognizes an individual who has
served EENC in key leadership roles for over three years on the Board of
Directors. This individual has made very significant contributions in furthering
EENC’s mission to serve as a leader in building a statewide network of EE
practitioners, providing excellent professional development, strengthening EE
throughout North Carolina,
and serving as an active state affiliate to the North American Association for
Environmental
Education.
Outstanding Service Award
This award recognizes an active member who has
served in several key leadership roles making a significant contribution to
further the mission of EENC. This individual has given many hours of dedicated
service to help shape EENC into a viable statewide professional organization.
Environmental Educator of the
Year
This award recognizes an educator who stands out
among environmental educators as a professional who exemplifies excellence in
environmental education and lends credibility to the field. Through valuable
contributions and professionalism, this environmental educator is regarded as a
“dynamo” that other EE practitioners strive to emulate.
Outstanding Newcomer Award
This award was established to recognize a member
of five years or less who has made a significant contribution to EENC during
his or her short time as a member
Outstanding Environmental Organization
This award recognizes an organization that has given unselfishly
to EENC in support of our vision and mission. This organization
has made a significant contribution to EENC by giving their
employees' time and talents, providing training to EENC
members or its Board, or providing significant funding or
services to make the annual conference possible.
Outstanding Partnership Award
This award recognizes businesses, non-profits,
or government agencies that have partnered with EENC to support the mission and
the growth of EENC.This partnership may provide in-kind contributions, donation
of employees’ time and materials to administratively support EENC, monetary
support to provide EENC Board training, or funding for EENC’s annual
conference. This partnership enables EENC to experience a growth in
professionalism and/or membership, which may not have been possible without
this contribution.
