We’re looking forward to seeing you at EENC’s 19th Annual Conference, Green Spaces in Urban Places, November 5-8, 2009. There are three Conference “tracks” designed to meet the needs of all participants, including formal educators, EE Certification newbies, and EE certified professionals. There are plenty of “mobile workshops,” workshops, and sessions to whet your palate. And if that’s not enough, the evening activities will be sure to impress! Come to Raleigh and explore environmental education opportunities where most of us work: in an urban setting!
Our Friday night keynote address will be given by Ms. Akiima Price, Chief of Education and Programs with the New York Restoration Project, which restores, develops and revitalizes open spaces throughout New York City. We are also honored that Dr. June St. Clair Atkinson, State Superintendent of Public Instruction, will be joining us Saturday night to help announce the recipients of The North Carolina Environmental Education Awards. Dr. Atkinson is the first woman elected to the post of State Superintendent. She oversees more than 1.46 million students in almost 2,500 public schools.
